The Daily Dot, like many other news websites, advertises and reaches out to an extensive audience through creating social medias which portray the information found on the site itself. The most popular and used social media sites,Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc, consist of profiles for The Daily Dot news, which establishes a greater possibility of increasing the amount of views for the news site.
Located on the top right corner of the site, The Daily Dot introduces its readers to access to multiple social media accounts. By clicking on each icon, the website automatically takes you to the account for extra information on the site. After obtaining access to the accounts and overlooking the materials placed within them, the information equally compared to the articles posted on the website. For example, each twitter post included an image of the articles topic and a short topic sentence with a link that takes the readers to The Daily Dot website for full coverage on the story. The viewers reacted positively to the social medias portrayal of the information, some adding in personal comments and tweets. Located in the same tab with the icons that lead the readers to the social media sites, The Daily Dot added information which informs the viewers on a possible job opportunity. If an individual were interested in consistently updating advertisements through web and mobile webs, the news site notifies about the Yield Manager job and provides a link which takes them to an automatic application. The Daily Dot, according to my research, covers majority of the aspects a regular news website should contain and portrays the information in a clear manner which everyone could easily understand. |
